From a collection of works I make continually in the studio or on site, in response to the changing seasons and weather patterns near my home in Yorkshire. I love the rough texture of the Khadi cotton paper and the slightly erratic way ink behaves when used with water and (sometimes) bleach solution. This is what gives the warmer 'sepia' tones. I also sometimes add charcoal and pastel as a way of getting the marks, textures and tones I want. Not all of them work as finished pieces, but all of them are little journeys of discovery.
