Komorebi 木漏れ日
Often translated as “sunlight filtering through trees”, Komorebi 木漏れ日 is about so much more than that neat, one-dimensional definition. It’s the whole atmosphere: the hypnotic dance of light and shadow through moving leaves. It's the way the air shifts under a canopy, the scent of moss and leaf mould, and the soft susurration overhead.
Komorebi is a body of work inspired by those flickering shapes of light seen through trees throughout the seasons—paintings that feel like stepping into shade on a warm day, where the noise drops away, time slows, and you can breathe a little deeper.
